Introduce

VCD Lab is a practice-based research laboratory working across visual communication, culture, and identity.

The studio combines academic inquiry with design practice to examine complex contexts and translate that knowledge into meaningful systems, experiences, and forms, positioning itself as a visual communication design research practice based in Ho Chi Minh City that treats brand identity, editorial design, packaging, digital experience, and campaign work as connected acts of inquiry rather than separate services.

Concept

Every project at VCD Lab begins with research - into context, audience, culture, and the real problem beneath the stated one - which is why the studio calls itself a "lab" rather than a conventional agency.

This research-first, academic-based approach shapes the site's structure and tone: work is framed as investigation, with strategy and design used to transform complex ideas into meaningful identities, experiences, and systems.

Develop

Beyond showcasing finished work, the site is designed as a space for the lab to look back on its own journey - a living archive of both past and current members that captures the personalities and energy behind the projects, not just the output.

A dedicated "Playground" section hints at this lighter, more personal layer, inviting visitors to "tap to see how bored we are in our free time," which signals the studio's intent to balance rigorous research with a young, playful team culture.
